Using a hands-on, exciting and thematic approach, the Kindergarten class is a full-year program that offers small group classes in the mornings or afternoons, before or after traditional public Kindergarten classes. The goal of the Kindergarten Enrichment program is to enhance learning opportunities and experiences, providing opportunities for both group and individual learning experiences. The curriculum options include: Math, Reading, Writing, Science and Cultural studies. (36-38 weeks, full school year)
Similar in format to the Kindergarten Enrichment program, the Fab 5’s program is a full-year program designed to extend learning experiences for children who miss the cut-off date for Kindergarten (or who have chosen to wait an extra year), but are ready for a more challenging program than the typical preschool provides. Using a themed curriculum, students work on reading, and math, writing skills as well as science and cultural studies, through both group and individual learning activities. (36-38 weeks, full school year)
Afterschool skill labs are designed to reinforce important Reading, Writing and Math skills in a fun, small group format. Limited to 6 students with a certified teacher, these multi-skill classes use interesting themes, unique learning games, hands-on materials and award winning literature to teach and reinforce important skills and concepts, while developing a love of learning! (12 weeks; fall and spring semesters)
For ages 3-6, classes include Little Readers, Phonics Factory 1, Phonics Factory 2, Math Explorers, Discovery Science and Motor Skills. These classes begin the building of a foundation of solid academic skills, delivered in a fun, interactive and exciting class format. Using a mix of hands-on active learning with teacher-directed group activities, students learn essential basic pre-reading, math and phonics skills, as well as science and fine motor concepts too!
One-to-one instruction in all areas of need or areas of desired enrichment is provided by our highly qualified, certified teachers. Instruction is based on the student’s individual learning profile, areas of need and areas of interest. Whether the student needs a little extra help or wants to move ahead, tutoring can be an excellent way to address and develop valuable skills and concepts. Skill & subject areas include: readiness and foundational skills, math, language arts, reading/literacy skills (including Orton Gillingham instruction), study skills, instructional strategies, and subject area support (e.g. Spanish, Science, History, etc…) (Scheduled individually, year-round)
Orton Gillingham (O-G) instruction is the gold-standard instructional methodology for students with Dyslexia and reading/decoding difficulties. Based on the work of Samuel T. Orton and Anna Gillingham, O-G instruction is a highly structured, sequential, and multisensory method for explicitly teaching the rules (and exceptions) of the English language in relation to reading and spelling through research-based programs. Our highly trained teachers provide Wilson Reading System, Sonday Reading, Project Read, Explode the Code, The Language Laboratory and Phonics Factory, all programs based on the Orton Gillingham principles. (12 week classes or individual tutoring)
Appropriately licensed professionals (Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant & Psychologist) will assess the student’s areas of strength and areas of need using standardized, nationally normed professional assessment tools, and provide a written report of the findings, including recommendations and resources. Assessments measure age and grade level achievement, learning profiles, identify learning disabilities and provide information regarding IQ, processing speed, memory and perceptual skills. Evaluation can also include in-school observation.
Educational Evaluations $500 (call to schedule with LDT-C)
Psychological Evaluations $500 (call to schedule with LPC)
